In order to make the experience of living abroad with a host family the best that it can be CRCC would like to explain a few of the things that are expected of you during your stay.

IMPORTANT
» There will be absolutely no consumption of alcoholic beverages in the residence of the host family.
» It is prohibited to have a member of the same or opposite sex spend the night with you in the host family’s home.

Failure to comply with the rules listed above will result in administrative action by CRCC and may result in the termination of your trip. The following are guidelines to follow in order to maintain a positive relationship with your host family.

» If you arrive late it is important that you are quiet and do not wake the family.
» If you want to invite friends inside the house, check with your host family beforehand to get permission. This is not very common and neither is “dropping” by someone’s house it is best to call first.
» It’s important to remember that utilities are very expensive in Costa Rica and to limit your use of water and electricity to local levels.
» Respect the family and their home by calling the family if you are going to be late for dinner, letting them know when you have enjoyed a meal.
» Phone calls are relatively expensive in Costa Rica so if you are going to be using the phone in the house use a phone card. You can purchase these at the CRCC’s office.

I have read and have understood the above rules and guidelines. By signing the following I acknowledge responsibility for any and all changes CRCC must make as a result of my breaking this contract including but not limited to the termination of my program without refund.
