the country and find different cultural
aspects in each region of Costa Rica.

VOLCANO
The volcano Arenal
is located 4 hours away
from San Jose, in the community
of La Fortuna,
which is well known for
their dairy products for
exportation and the beautiful
landscape of the village.
The volcanic hot springs
at Baldi are naturally heated
and are located in a strategic
place where people can see
the glowing hot boulders
descend from the volcano
while taking a relaxing
bath in the mineral water.
After relaxing, one can
take a hike down to La Fortuna
Waterfall.
The powerful water falling
more than 150 feet from
the rainforest is refreshing
and an incredible sight.
Other activities to choose
from include canopy tours,
riverboat tours, hiking
in nearby Venado Caves,
fishing in Arenal lake and
exploring Caño Negro
Wildlife Refuge.

NATIONAL PARK
Lying on the pacific coast
7 kilometers south of the
town of Quepos,
Manuel Antonio National
Park was created
in 1972 with an area of
683 hectares on land and
55 000 hectares in the sea.
This park is a remarkably
long list of wildlife inhabiting
it: brown pelicans, brown
boobies, tyrant hawk-eagles,
gray headed chachalacas,
solater’s ant bird,
coatimundis, among others.
Other activities Students
can choose are: Hiking,
surfing, swimming, snorkeling,
and horseback riding.
